Celebrating 31 years of commitment

Scroll through our timeline to disciver our achievements. From a modest beginning in Jhunjhunu district, Rajasthan to a National Organisation with over three decades of impact.

Shikshit Rojgar Prabandhak Samiti (SRKPS) is established. A group of youth residing in Mandawa locality of Jhunjhunu district, Rajasthan set out on a mission to change the lives of rural people. The aim was to reduce unemployment through information awareness.

We expanded our scope to women and children.
We initiated livelihood project to equip women and youth with vocational skills preparing them for work and becoming self reliant.

We worked with communities on family planning education.

We expanded our capabilities to include education for children in formal and non formal settings. We partnered with Unicef and other International organisations to actualise children's right to education as guaranteed in our constitution.

We reached out to other districts of Rajasthan State. We were recognized as a State level organisation. We worked on projects like District Poverty Initiative Project (DPIP), Integrated Nutrition and Health Program (INHAP), Maternal and Child Health (MCH). We worked on sensitising and building capacities of Panchayati Raj Institutions.

This phase was very crucial phase for us. In 2003, the Census 2001 data was released which revealed the shocking statistics of declining sex ratio in Rajasthan owing to rampant practices of sex selection and eliminatiin of female foetus. This called for an action and promoting gender equality and saving the girl child became our core issue.

During this phase we focussed our efforts on Tobacco use control ad advocating for strict enforcement of PCPNDT Act and COTPA Act.

We started working on Natural Resource Management with a particular focus on water conservation.

We work towards addressing the issues of gender biased sex selection, creating safer public spaces for women and girls, building capacities of women to demand for quality health care services, strengthening public education system, facilitating target intervention to eliminate HIV/AIDS, promoting tobacco control programs and others.

We have initiated SRKPS Delhi chapter from 2019.
